Former College of Charleston play-by play man and good friend of SportsTalk, Tony Ciuffo, joined us Tuesday night to discuss one of the top baseball prospects in the country, Lexington Catcher Nick Ciuffo. Nick is Tony’s son, and was offered at 14 years old by then USC head coach Ray Tanner to play at one of the premier programs in the country. Tonight we had Tony on to discuss the pride and the process of being the father of an elite baseball prospect.
Nick Ciuffo is projected to go in the first round pick of Thursday’s Major League Baseball draft. He will have to make the decision between playing in the pros or playing in college at South Carolina.
Ciuffo batted .453 with 5 HR and 33 RBIs last seson.
