Clemson ended up with a five seed in this week’s ACC Tournament in Durham. The Tigers had a shot at the two seed, but faltered in their final two games of the regular season at Florida State. With that series win the Seminoles took the Atlantic Division title and the second seed in the tournament.
Remember, the ACC still does the pool play format (this is the last year). That means there are two four team pools and each team in the tournament will play three games, and the top team from each pool will advance to a winner-take-all matchup on Sunday.
Get all that?
Clemson will play NC State Wednesday night at 7:00. The Tigers won two out of three in Raleigh this season. Thursday is an off day. Friday night the Tigers will play top seed North Carolina at 7:00. The Tar Heels won two of three in the series in Chapel Hill. Saturday at 3:00 Clemson will play Miami. The Hurricanes won two of three over the Tigers in Coral Gables.
Tiger skipper Jack Leggett previewed the upcoming tournament Monday. We’d encourage you to take a listen if you want to get an idea on what he thinks his team’s chances are this week.
