Earlier in the week we had USC golf coach Bill McDonald on SportsTalk to talk about the upcoming NCAA tournament. Tonight it was Clemson head coach Larry Penley’s turn to discuss his Tiger squad heading to their regional in Tempe, Arizona as the fifth seed.
The Tigers are only out-seaded by 4 teams, the top-seed UCLA, followed by Georgia, Duke, and Texas A&M. The top five finishers in the Tempe regional will advance to the NCAA Championship at the Capital City Club’s Crab Apple Course in Alpharetta, Georgia on May 28-June .
The Tigers are one of the premier teams in the country. Clemson will be making trip number 32 in a row to the tournament. Coach Penley tells us what he thinks about his regional set-up out west, and how he plans on navigating the daunting field.
Penley’s checked in with a few famous alumni to get an idea of how to play the course out in Tempe, he explains in detail, and much more.
