Tonight Clemson head baseball coach Jack Leggett joined us, as he does every week, to update SportsTalk on the status of his club.
The Tiger’s weekend was thrown a curve from the jump by mother nature, and their series against the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech was pushed back in a major way. Due to inclement weather on the horizon, they were forced to play two Friday, and Saturday’s matchup was moved from an evening game to the early am.
Friday was kind to Clemson, as the Tigers took game 1 easily, 11-3, thanks to another solid outing from ace Daniel Gossett, and an overall quality game from the orange sticks. Game 2 didn’t come easily, however. The Tigers needed 11 innings to put away the Jackets in walk-off fashion, winning 4-3 over Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech took the finale Saturday morning, 14-9 over Clemson, thanks to a 10-run 5th inning from the Jackets, but the Tigers walked off of Doug Kingsmore Stadium with a big series win over a conference foe.
Coach Leggett breaks down the series, and the overall solid play he’s received from his bunch in the month of April.
