USC associate head basketball coach Brad Underwood is likely to be named the new head coach at Stephen F. Austin early next week according to a report in the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel. The story said Underwood could be announced as the Lumberjacks new coach as early as Tuesday.
Underwood would replace Danny Kaspar who left after last season to become the head coach at Texas State. Kaspar had been the head coach at SFA for 13 seasons and last season led his team to a 27-5 mark and a berth in the NIT.
Underwood came to USC last season with Frank Martin. He had been with Martin at Kansas State having been hired there by Bob Huggins in 2005.
