It has been a rough year on the injury front for the USC baseball team. The latest casualty is catcher Dante Rosenberg. USC issued a release early Sunday afternoon announcing the senior catcher will be on the shelf for the next several weeks:
South Carolina senior catcher Dante Rosenberg is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks due to a broken hamate bone in his left wrist. Rosenberg suffered the injury on Friday evening at Florida during batting practice. He will undergo surgery this week.
Rosenberg has started 12 games this season. He is hitting .319 with 1 home run and 12 RBI.
The Gamecocks are coming off a rough weekend at Florida. They dropped all three games to the Gators. They are back on the field Tuesday at home against the College of Charleston.
