The 12th ranked USC baseball team was dealt some adversity in March after being swept by the pre-season ranked #1 team in America, Arkansas, at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks responded in a big way, though, beating the College of Charleston last Tuesday, and completing a sweep of Texas A&M over the weekend.
The pitching staff did their part in completing the sweep of the Aggies, so tonight we welcomed USC Pitching Coach Jerry Meyers into SportsTalk to talk about the weekend, and how he sees his staff and the rest of the squad shaping up moving forward. His Friday starter, Jordan Montgomery, has been rehabbing an injury since the Clemson series. We get a prognosis of how far along his Ace has come over the weeks, and just when we might see him again.
USC will play at Flour Field tomorrow night in Greenville against Furman at 7:00. The Gamecocks will then head to Knoxville to take on Tennessee over the weekend.
