Cool weather, great pass catching and a significant injury on the offensive line are the highlights of Steve Spurrier’s assessment of USC’s latest spring practice.
“It was a cold and windy day,” Spurrier said. “We cut back a little bit. But Shaq Roland had the best practice he’s had I think since he’s been a Gamecock. He was catching everything, running full speed.”
As for that injury, offensive lineman Cody Gibson will miss the rest of spring ball with a meniscus tear. The injury will require surgery, but he’s expected to be back in time for preseason camp in August.
The Gamecocks will practice again Friday and have their first scrimmage of the spring Saturday morning.
