The state of South Carolina is passionate about its baseball at any level. The college level is no exception, and South Carolina has possessed 3 programs for some time that are practical locks to be seen in postseason play in USC, Clemson, and Coastal Carolina.
Others, like the College of Charleston, are knocking on the door of college baseball’s annually competitive class. One of the hottest baseball teams in the state.
Another program from the state has decided to play and early season Cinderella. The Furman Paladins are 13-4, 4-2 in the Southern Conference, and have beaten the aforementioned Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina twice at Myrtle Beach. The Paladins 13-4 mark thus far matches Furman’s best start since 1926.
