RB Stanley Williams of Monroe, GA remains committed to Georgia where he attended a junior day last Saturday. It was his first junior day visit this year. “I was really busy with basketball so I couldn’t go to Clemson or South Carolina (junior days),” said Williams. “I need to call their coaches to setup visits to both.” Williams is torn between Alabama and Auburn for his next junior day visit which will be this Saturday. “My family and I are going to talk about it and decide which one we’re going to,” he said. “They’re both Saturday. I know which one I want to go to but I’m not ready to say.” He continues to receive mail from the Gamecocks and Tigers but has not spoken with either coaching staff in some time saying he will reach out to those coaches in due time. “I know I’m still going to visit South Carolina, Clemson, Auburn and Alabama,” he said. “I just don’t know when I’m going to visit them.”
LB Christian Miller of Spring Valley Saturday committed to Florida while in Gainesville for a junior day. First reported by JC Shurburtt of 247sports.com and confirmed by his father, Corey Miller, Miller chose the Gators over Georgia, Alabama and Florida State. USC and Clemson had also offered Miller but had not shown strong interest otherwise. “It’s (a) perfect fit for him,” said Miller’s father. One of the major lures to Florida for Miller was new defensive line coach and recruiter Brad Lawing, the former USC assistant who coached the elder Miller at USC. Last season Miller had 121 tackles with 21 tackles for loss and 14 sacks.
Clemson commitment QB Deshaun Watson of Gainesville, GA made an unofficial visit Sunday for the Miami basketball game. Watson sat with Tiger quarterbacks coach Chad Morris during the game. Watson has maintained a strong commitment to the Tigers despite a hard push from Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia and others.
