Clemson collected 12 runs and 14 hits over the final three innings Sunday afternoon to put away William and Mary 12-2 at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to win the season opening series 2-1.
Starter Scott Firth was the benefactor of the late offense earning his first victory since the 2011 season. First went seven innings and allowed two hits and one run. Jonathan Meyer pitched the final two innings for the Tigers.
Steve Wilkerson had a career high 4 RBIs for the Tigers who had 15 hits on the day. Garrett Boulware added a pair of hits and 2 RBIs.
The Tigers return to action Friday to open a three game home series against Wright State.
