There may not be a state that rang in the new year any better than South Carolina from a sporting standpoint.
The 14th ranked Clemson Tigers beat the Bayou Bengals of LSU 25-24 to close out 2012, thanks to a game winning 37-yard field goal from the “Cat-Man”, Chandler Catanzaro. In case you haven’t heard, well give the final calL from Pete Yanity a listen.
Not to be outdone, the 10th ranked USC football team introduced 2013 to some fireworks as well. With just :17 remaining in the game, and the Gamecocks down 28-27 to Michigan in the Outback Bowl, Dylan Thompson connects with Bruce Ellington for the game winning 32-yard touchdown, as the Gamecocks go on to beat the Wolverines 33-28.
