USC sophomore DE Jadeveon Clowney Thursday was named one of the five finalists for the Nagurski Award which is presented annually to the best defensive player in college football.
Clowney is joined on the list by Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones, Alabama defensive back Dee Milliner, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Florida State defensive end Bjoern Werner.
“The 2012 Bronko Nagurski award finalists truly represent the elite of college defensive football players,” said John Rocco, Executive Director of the Charlotte Touchdown Club. “Each of these young men has earned the honor of having his name associated with football legend Bronko Nagurski and have distinguished themselves both on and off the playing field.”
The winner will be announced December 3rd at a banquet in Charlotte.
