Wofford men’s basketball coach Mike Young has announced the schedule for the 2012-13 season. The schedule includes road games against Colorado, Richmond, Xavier, Tulane, and Virginia.
Wofford will play 18 Southern Conference games this season. The Terriers will have home-and-home series with South Division Teams, plus home-and-home games with UNC Greensboro and Elon in the North Division. Wofford will play Appalachian State, Samford, Chattanooga, and Western Carolina from the North Division only once this season.
The Terriers tip off the season on November 9 with a visit to Colorado. The home opener will be on November 12 against Webber International. Next up will be road games at Ball State, Ohio, and Richmond before playing Hampton and UNC Wilmington in The Classic at Wilmington on November 23 and 24.
After home contests against Winthrop and Gardner-Webb, Wofford will open the Southern Conference slate at Davidson on December 8. Following exams, the team will have a four-game road trip that will include contests at Jacksonville, Xavier, Virginia, and Tulane. On January 8, the Terriers return home to face Appalachian State, the first of 17 straight Southern Conference contests.
The SoCon schedule includes a three-game road swing to Furman, UNCG, and Elon. Wofford and Furman will play twice in a ten-day span in January. A three-game home stand will include Davidson, Elon, and UNCG in February. The regular season will end on March 2 when Wofford hosts The Citadel.
The Southern Conference Tournament is scheduled to begin on March 8 in Asheville, with the championship game slated for March 11.
