2010-2011 Record: 29-9 (10-6) Final Four
Kentucky has their eyes on another deep tournament run after the Wildcats were ousted by eventual national champion UConn last year. The Cats rode their defense to the Final Four last season, and head coach John Calipari wants to see the same defensive intensity in this year’s squad. The Wildcats are loaded with offensive weapons, lead by Terrence Jones. Marquis Teague will run the point for Kentucky in his first year on campus. Teague is the fifth straight freshman to start at point guard for a Calipari-coached team. In the post, the Wildcats lack a true physical presence. Instead, Kentucky will rely on a stable of athletic frontcourt players. The Wildcats are poised for another long stay at the Big Dance, where they have won seven games over the past two tournaments.
