The second BCS standings will be released Sunday night and Clemson stands to move up from it’s #7 spot. The Tigers are one of 8 undefeated teams left, and two teams ranked ahead of them lost Saturday. #3 Oklahoma lost at home to unranked Texas Tech, and #6 Wisconsin lost at #16 Michigan State.
Clemson, of course, defeated unranked North Carolina Saturday. It stands to reason the Tigers will climb two spots to fifth. However, Stanford, which was ranked 8th this week, defeated 25th ranked Washington Saturday. That could be enough to bump the Cardinal over the Tigers and into the 5th spot. Clemson’s rating this week was .7582 to Stanford’s .7484.
The top four spots in the new BCS ranking figure to be LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State and Boise State.
