Clemson used its win over North Carolina Saturday and losses by Oklahoma and Wisconsin to move up two places into the top five of the BCS ranking. The Tigers are #5 in the second ranking of the season releases Sunday night. Clemson’s average of all the numbers compiled for the ranking is .8240, just behind #4 Boise State at .8302. Clemson had the better computer numbers but Boise outpolled the Tigers in the two human rankings, the AP and the Harris Poll.
LSU continues to lead Alabama by a slim margin at the top of the ranking. The human polls favor the Tigers while the computers lean to ‘Bama. Oklahoma State is third and is actually the #1 team by the computers.
USC, which was idle last weekend, moved up one position to #13.
