2010-2011 Record: 8-24 (1-15)
There is nowhere to go but up for the Demon Deacons after a season in which Wake Forest finished in the basement of the ACC. The Deacons won only eight games after making two straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Jeff Bzdelik believes his team is heading in the right direction in his second year in Winston-Salem. Last year’s freshman class accounted for over twenty-eight points per game in conference play, and three of the five are expected to start as sophomores. The Demon Deacons also expect big things from Caron Desrosiers, who has bulked up in preparation for the tough ACC schedule. Wake’s shot-blocking ability was a bright spot in a dim season last year, as the Deacons had a player post at least seven blocks on four different occasions.
