2010-2011 Record: 13-18 (5-11)
The Yellow Jackets have a new head coach in Brian Gregory, and are looking to head in a new direction after a disappointing year that saw them finish tied for tenth in the ACC. Georgia Tech’s first challenge will be finding someone to replace first-round draft pick Iman Shumpert, who led the Yellow Jackets in point, rebounds, assists, and steals last season. Tech has a strong defense, led by Daniel Miller, which should help offset any potential issues on offense. Gregory has a reputation as a defensive coach and will hope that the Yellow Jackets’ defense will keep them in ball games. Georgia Tech led the conference in steals per game last year, and will need transition buckets while they look to build an offense identity. The Ramblin’ Wreck have missed the NCAA Tournament three out of the past four years.
