2010-2011 Record: 21-13 (9-7)
Head coach Steve Donahue has the unenviable task of trying to replace all five starters from last year’s squad. An incoming freshman class that includes 6’8” forward Ryan Anderson, the Gatorade California Player of the Year last season, will make the transition smoother. Boston College will look for more production in the paint, as the Eagles launched more 3-pointers than any other ACC team last year. Donahue’s young bunch will have to grow up quickly if they hope to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons. With nine freshmen on the roster, the Eagles may struggle early on, especially in conference play. Boston College should get a lift from Oregon-transfer Matt Humphrey, but Donahue will have to find a spark for a team that lost all five of its leading scorers from last season.
