Carolina starts the quarter in the Vanderbilt red zone, but a Garcia pass attempt bounces off of Alshon Jeffrey’s hand and is intercepted in the end zone and returned to the Vandy 25.
Vanderbilt can do nothing on offense and punts for the seventh time in the game.
The Gamecocks take over at their own 20 and Connor Shaw enters the game at quarterback. Carolina drives to the Commodore 35, but Lattimore is stopped short on 4th and 1 and Vanderbilt takes over.
Vanderbilt goes 3 and out yet again, and the punt gives the Gamecocks the ball at the Carolina 31 yard line.
Carolina’s offense is unable to move the ball and Vanderbilt gets the ball back at their own 17.
Vanderbilt’s offensive woes continue and Carolina gets the ball back at the Commodore 49 following another Vandy punt.
Carolina runs out the clock to preserve the 21-3 victory.
Garcia finishes 16-30 for 228 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. Lattimore adds 150 total yards and two scores.
