Class of 2013 WR Jorian Jordan-Brown (6-1 173) of Charlotte has an offer from Towson and is hearing from USC, North Carolina, Duke, Maryland and Notre Dame. He is most interested in USC and UNC. “I like South Carolina a lot,” Jordan-Brown said. “They get their receivers ready for the NFL.” He attended the Gamecock Showcase camp this summer and came away impressed. “They showed us the film room, the weight room and some of the other facilities,” he said. “It’s nice. We got to see (Marcus) Lattimore and players like him.” This season, Jordan-Brown has attended the Duke-Richmond game and the UNC-Virginia game. He would like to take in a game in South Bend. “They sent me tickets for a game so I’m looking into that,” he added. Through four games this year, Jordan-Brown has 10 receptions and a touchdown.
Class of 2013 DL Jordan Hawkins (6-2 250) of Jacksonville, FL is hearing from Clemson. The Tigers have offered his teammate, DB Jasper Sasser, but want to see more from Hawkins. “They wanted me to go to camp up there this year but I couldn’t make it because I got hurt,” Hawkins said. “I have talked to Jasper about maybe going there for a game this season.” Hawkins has received mail from the Tigers and is considering attending camp in the future. His lone offer is from Southern Miss with interest from Duke, Tennessee, Nebraska, Oregon, Florida, Florida State and Georgia Tech. “I have talked to my mom about going to some games this year but it’s hard with us playing games on Friday night,” he said. “We’re trying to decide which games I can attend.” He has a strong interest in Clemson. Hawkins totaled 35 tackles, five sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered two as a sophomore. He does not have a favorite.
6-9 Brice Johnson of Edisto made his official visit to North Carolina last weekend. That was his second official visit. He earlier went to NC State. He made the visit with his dad and his AAU coach, Dion Bethea. “He had a good visit, had a real good time,” Bethea said. “He’s not ready to commit. He’s going to go down to Florida (October 1st.)” Florida coach Billy Donovan and his assistants John Pelphrey and Norm Roberts visited Johnson last Thursday. USC and Clemson also remain involved with Johnson and are hoping for a visit. “His dad wants him to visit USC and Clemson,” Bethea said. “They are still working on it.” The in state schools appear to be running behind North Carolina, NC State and Florida at this point. Johnson plans to make his decision shortly after the Florida visit.
