The NCAA’s Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement has ruled against USC freshman wide receiver Damiere Byrd’s appeal of his four game suspension. The NCAA suspended Byrd because it deemed his involvement in a mentoring program led to improper benefits, including some from a USC booster.
Byrd sat out the East Carolina and Georgia games. He won’t play tonight against Navy or next week against Vanderbilt. He will be reinstated for the Auburn game on October 1st.
