After forcing an Auburn punt to start the quarter, Clemson scored for the sixth time in its last seven possessions, a 38 yard field goal by Chandler Cantanzaro. The Tigers, who crossed the 500 yard total offense mark for the game on the drive, reached the Auburn 20 before settling for three. Clemson had converted 10 straight third downs before coming up short on this drive. With 11:48 left in the game, Clemson leads 38-24.
Auburn next launches a desperation drive to get back into the game. A 41 yard pass and a 9 yard run quickly get the Tigers deep into Clemson territory. But Coty Sensabaugh snuffed out the threat intercepting a Barrett Trotter pass at the Clemson five.
And that would the last threat by Auburn. In fact, Auburn would not get the ball back as the Tigers ate up the rest of the clock. Clemson wins it 38-24 to snap Auburn’s 17 game winning streak.
