TE Jay Jay McCullough (6-5 235) of Nation Ford committed to Clemson Thursday. McCullough picked the Tigers over offers from USC, Alabama, Miami, East Carolina, Connecticut, NC State, Duke and Kentucky. McCullough also plays running back in high school. Last season he had 35 catches for 300 yards and 6 touchdowns while rushing for 544 yards and 9 touchdowns. “He’s aggressive and does a great job in the open field,” said Nation Ford coach Michael Allen. “He’ll play in the slot and at wide receiver as a senior. He has great hands, great speed and is an excellent jumper.” McCullough is the 17th commitment for Clemson’s 2012 class including two players from the 2011 class the Tigers placed in prep school and plan to resign. He’s also the Tigers 10th commitment from South Carolina.
DE Jamal Marcus (6-3 225) of Durham, NC has offers from USC, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Auburn, Minnesota, East Carolina, Vanderbilt, Southern Cal, NC State, Wake Forest, Maryland, Miami and Florida among others. He has not narrowed his list but would like to do so before the season starts or shortly there after. Marcus is looking at the Tigers and Gamecocks. “I want to evaluate both schools a little more,” Marcus said. “They’re both still in it with me.” In fact, Marcus wants to evaluate several schools before shortening his list. “I try to call coaches from each school once a week,” he added acknowledging he has maintained contact with USC and Clemson. Marcus wants to decide on a top five and then take official visits to each of those schools. He does not have a leader. As a junior, Marcus compiled 72 tackles and 17 sacks.
OL DJ Humphries of Charlotte will announce his college choice Friday night at 7:00 PM. He is choosing from USC, Clemson, Florida, Tennessee and Auburn. He’s been favoring Florida.

Duke and Kentucky also are showing interest. He has visited USC….6-7 Tyler Cavanaugh of Syracuse is a rising senior. Clemson has shown him some interest while he has offers from Fairfield, Vermont, Davidson, George Washington and other mid-majors….6-10 Landy Nnoko is a rising senior from Cameroon who attends Montverde Academy in Florida. He says Clemson, Louisville, Central Florida, Georgetown, Florida Atlantic and Loyola of Maryland have offered. He likes Florida the most right now and said Clemson has been showing him the most interest.
6-8 Devin Thomas of Harrisburg, PA told Scout.com he is visiting Clemson, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Virginia and James Madison this week. He recently picked up offers from Marquette, Seton Hall, Temple and UMass.
The New York Post reports USC has offered 2014 prospect 6-1 CJ Davis of New York. He also has an offer from Washington.
