USC shortstop Peter Mooney has agreed to contract terms with the Toronto Blue Jays. Mooney was the team’s 21st round draft pick last month. According to a source, the Blue Jays upped their offer to around 90-thousand dollars to sign Mooney. Mooney played one season with the Gamecocks after arriving from junior college. Mooney batted .280 with 4 home runs and 37 RBIs. He’s the first Gamecock veteran with eligibility remaining to opt for pro baseball.
