The USC football team added two commitments to its 2012 class this week, one from a player the Gamecocks had recruited for months, the other from a player they had recruited for a few weeks.
The Gamecocks had long been in pursuit of TE Kelvin Rainey of Yulee, FL. The heavily recruited Rainey had been favoring the Gamecocks for most of the recruiting season and made the call on his commitment Thursday. Read more about his commitment at PalmettoSports.com.
OL Mason Zandi of Chapin was a relative unknown in recruiting circles until he made waves at Clemson’s and USC’s camp. Both offered, and the long time Gamecock fan made his pledge to USC Friday. Read more about his commitment at PalmettoSports.com.
The commitments give the Gamecocks 10 for their 2012 class.
