Ray Tanner has not come right out and said it, but it looks like an almost certainty that Michael Roth will be getting the ball tomorrow night when the Gamecocks face the Virginia-Cal winner at the College World Series. Roth started USC’s first game at the CWS Sunday night and threw 122 pitches in a no-decision against Texas A&M. He told reporters Thursday he’s ready to take the ball again.
Roth is 13-3 this season with a 0.97 ERA. Friday night’s game will start at 7:00on ESPN2.
