One of the reasons USC has been able to make another run at the College World Series has been its pitching. In each of the first two games USC has turned to its bullpen to lock down games and in both cases they delivered. Matt Price earned the win in the first game against Texas A&M and John Taylor picked up the victory Wednesday against Virginia. Taylor has been Ray Tanner’s go to setup man out of the bullpen all season.
With his win Tuesday night Taylor is 7-1 this season with an ERA of 1.17. He’s appeared in 47 games, one shy of the NCAA record.
