So much for rust. Jackie Bradley Jr. may be hitting the ball better now than he was prior the injury that kept him off the field for close to two months. The junior outfielder had a pair of hits Tuesday night against Virginia, including an RBI double that plated the Gamecocks first run of the game. The reigning CWS Most Outstanding Player is has three hits in his nine at-bats in Omaha this week.
Bradley Jr. hit ninth in his first game back Sunday against Texas A&M. Tuesday night Ray Tanner moved him into the cleanup spot and Bradley Jr. delivered. His two-out double in the first inning set the pace for what would be an impressive offensive night for the Gamecocks. Bradley Jr. said Monday he was familiar with Virginia starter Will Roberts because the two had played together growing up. JBJ is a native of Virginia.
