It was coming sooner or later. The big thunderstorm with the tornado warnings that always hits the CWS. It arrived Monday night with Florida leading Vanderbilt 3-1 in the sixth inning. The stadium was cleared, the tarp was brought out, and everybody waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, the game was postponed until Tuesday morning at 11:00 Eastern. But the weather forcast is no more friendly for Tuesday, so more delays can be expected. And there’s more room at the inn now that Texas and its big horns are gone. Talk about going down meekly. In their two games, the Longhorns went down in order in 11 of 18 innings. Its the first time since 2000 the proud Texas team has gone 0-2. Too bad for Gamecock fans who no doubt would have loved another shot at the Longhorns in the national championship series. The Gamecocks are 0-2 against Texas in national title games. By the way, Jackie Bradley Jr. says the wrist felt fine after his first game action in two months Sunday night. His hit against Texas A&M came two months to the day of his previous hit, which came on his birthday, April 19th. Bradley batted in the nine hole Sunday night. You can expect him to move well up the order for the Virginia game. Bradley will be seeing a familiar face on the mound in Cavalier righty Will Roberts. The two were AAU teammates in Virginia, so Bradley has a good idea about what to expect from Roberts who is 11-1 this season.
