Florida beat Vanderbilt to win the SEC Baseball Tournament championship last month in Hoover, AL. The Gators backed up that win with another one over the Commodores in the College World series in Omaha. Florida downed Vandy 3-1 Tuesday morning in the completion of a game that started Monday night but was interrupted by a major thunderstorm.
Preston Tucker clubbed a three run homer off Grayson Garvin in the fourth inning for all of Florida’s runs. Steven Rodriguez pitched no hit ball for the final 4.2 innings for the Gators.
Florida is 52-17 and won’t play again until Friday when it will need just one win over Vanderbilt or North Carolina to reach the championship series. The Commodores and Tar Heels will play their elimination game Wednesday.
