USC outfielder Evan Marzilli tweaked his hamstring in practice Thursday and Ray Tanner says he is questionable for Sunday’s College World Series opener against Texas A&M. Marzilli suffered the injury during practice in Omaha.
Marzilli has been playing center field and batting leadoff for the Gamecocks. He moved to center field when Jackie Bradley Jr. went down with a wrist injury on April 23rd. Marzilli missed some time earlier this season because of a heart condition.
Tanner is concerned about Marzilli’s hamstring, but he still seemed optimistic the sophomore outfielder will be able to go on Sunday night.
USC and Texas A&M play at 7:00 Sunday night.
