DB Elijah Shumate (6-1 205) of Ramsey, NJ has offers from around the country and continues to add to his list. “I think I’m up around 30 (offers),” Shumate said. “A lot of schools have been by to see me this spring.” Some of those schools include USC, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, California and Oregon. Shumate plans to attend a Nike combine at Oregon in July. “I’m going to visit somebody around June 18th, but I’m not sure where yet,” he added. The Gamecocks are one of the schools showing a lot of interest. “They’re one of the schools recruiting me the hardest for sure,” Shumate said. He has offers from each of the schools that visited this spring as well as Penn State, Pitt, Alabama, Miami, Tennessee, LSU, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Wisconsin. He does not have a favorite but has stated that some of the schools showing him the most interest include USC, UNC, Rutgers, Penn State and Connecticut.
WR DaMar Hall (6-2 185) of Blythewood is gaining attention from recruiters after two very good seasons. Last year he caught 46 passes for 836 yards and 11 touchdowns. Over the past two seasons Hall 73 catches for 18 touchdowns. He also plays in the secondary and had 3 interceptions last season. Hall is getting interest from USC, Georgia Tech and East Carolina. Interest in him is expected to increase once he takes the SAT for the first time in June.
QB-DB Devin Fuller (6-0 185) of Ole Tappan, NJ has offers from around the country including one from USC. The Gamecocks are looking at Fuller at the quarterback position. “That’s very important to me,” Fuller said. “I want to play quarterback.” His other offers include Alabama, Florida State, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, UCLA and Michigan State. He plans to visit UCLA and Nebraska this summer. “I’m not sure what other schools I will visit,” he said. “South Carolina is definitely in the mix. I like that they’re winning and they’re getting a lot of Jersey kids. I want to see what’s going on there.” He would likely visit Auburn as well should they offer. Fuller does not have any favorites.
RB Jela Duncan (5-9 180) of Charlotte has offers from Duke, Wake Forest, East Carolina and Western Michigan and is hearing from Clemson and USC. Other schools showing interest are Georgia Tech, Virginia and Virginia Tech. “These schools want to get a better look at Jela during their camps this summer,” coach Michael Palmeiri said. He was unsure of which camps Duncan plans to attend. Several schools have been by the schools this spring to look at Duncan and some of his teammates. Duncan rushed for over 1200 yards on 95 carries scoring 15 times as a junior. No favorites were indicated.
