Two Winthrop University men’s basketball players were arrested and charged with two counts each of criminal sexual misconduct following an April 17 incident, school officials announced today.
Bond was set this afternoon at $40,000 each.
According to The Herald (Rock Hill), Robert Keith Dreher and Julius O. Francis have both been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct.
School officials say both have been suspended indefinitely from the team.
Winthrop University police say a 19-year-old female student claimed she was sexually assaulted by Dreher and Francis.
Dreher sat out the first three games of last season while serving a suspension.
