USC coach Ray Tanner met with the media Thursday shortly before he boarded a bus headed for Starkville, Mississippi. The second ranked Gamecocks will play a weekend series against Mississippi State this weekend.
Tanner said he is happy to have outfielder Jake Williams back this week. Williams missed the past five games serving a suspension but was reinstated Wednesday after the police dropped the charges that he provided alcohol to underage drinkers.
USC enters the weekend with a 29-7 record and are 12-3 in the SEC. Mississippi State is 23-14 and is 6-9 in the conference.
