OL Mark Harrell (6-5 270) of Charlotte has another offer. USC is the latest to offer Harrell who now has 17. Clemson, North Carolina, Auburn, Duke, NC State, East Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Stanford and West Virginia are the others. “I visited South Carolina last Friday,” Harrell said. “It’s different because they had not offered me at the time. It is hard to get fired up to visit a school that hasn’t offered. I liked the campus and it’s a good school.” Harrell visited Clemson for the Tigers-Gamecocks match up last season and returned for a junior day earlier this year. “It’s a nice school that offers a great education,” he said. Harrell is ready to narrow his list of schools. “I want to get it down to four or five in the next month,” he said. “I have a good idea of which schools I like.” He did not give any indication of which schools he interested in and says “all are even”. Harrell did not rule out return visits to Clemson and USC.
DL Martin Aiken of Bamberg-Ehrhardt has added offers from Arkansas and Memphis to his list according to his coach Butch Crosby. Aiken’s other offers are offers are USC, Clemson, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Illinois, NC State, East Carolina, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Auburn, North Carolina, Duke, Colorado, Louisville, Alabama, Michigan, Michigan State and Pittsburgh. Aiken has visited USC, Clemson and Auburn. Tennessee has been in this week to check on Aiken and teammate DL David Deleon.
WR Quinshad Davis (6-4 185) of Gaffney has offers from Clemson, USC and NC State and recruiters from all three have been in to check on him according to his coach Dan Jones. Davis had foot surgery recently but his coach said he’ll be fine for spring practice. Davis also is getting interest from Georgia Tech, Georgia, Nebraska, North Carolina and Tennessee. He has visited USC, Clemson and NC State. Jones said Davis had been interested in Florida but that interest is not as strong at this point. The coach expects Davis to stay relatively close to home. Davis does not claim any favorite according to Jones.
Gaffney LB Savon Dukes (6-3 225) missed most of last season due to an upper respiratory infection. He’s healthy now and recruiters who have come by to check on WR Quinshad Davis are also asking about Dukes. “When he tackles you, he runs thru you,” said Gaffney coach Dan Jones. “He is aggressive.” USC, Clemson and NC State are showing the most interest at this point. “Coaches who come in wonder, who is this guy,” Jones said. Dukes has visited USC and NC State.
Eau Claire DB Marquise Jones (6-1 180) has seen interest from recruiters increase in recent weeks according to his coach Ronnie Baker. Duke has offered and several other schools are interested. Jones visited Georgia Tech this past weekend. USC, Clemson, Maryland, Notre Dame and Miami of Ohio also are showing strong interest according to his coach. Last season Jones had 42 tackles and 6 interceptions. And as a receiver he had 38 catches for 486 yards and 6 touchdowns.
