Furman head football coach Bruce Fowler has kicked three players off his team and suspended another two. All five were involved in a drug arrest on campus. According to university officials the incident occurred Thursday night.
Sophomore defensive end Aaron Riley, junior corner back Jordan Griffin-a two year starter-and freshman linebacker Tim Lawrence have been booted from the team and face marijuana distribution charges.
Junior linebacker Sterling Johnson was charged with interfering with police and sophomore safety Nathan Wade was charged with possession of marijuana. Those two have been suspended indefinitely by Fowler.
