DE-TE Larry Jefferson (6-5 218) of College Park, GA has offers from Auburn, Louisville, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Illinois, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, and California. He is hearing from Clemson and USC. “I plan on visiting Clemson this summer,” Jefferson said. “I was at the Auburn-Clemson game. I don’t know a lot about them but I know they have a good program.” Jefferson says he is unsure if he will visit USC. Other schools Jefferson has visited include Georgia, Western Kentucky, and Louisville. “I’m going to take some visits this summer but I need to call some coaches and set them up,” he said. As a junior, Jefferson had 15 catches for 300 yards and two touchdowns on offense. On defense, he totaled 64 tackles, 12 for loss and six sacks. He does not have a favorite.
DB D.J. Singleton (6-1 205) of Jersey City, NJ was teammates with USC signee Sheldon Royster and is hearing from the Gamecocks according to his father. “They have not offered yet but he is very interested,” Dwayne Singleton said. “My wife is from South Carolina so he has a lot of family there. That would be very good for him.” Singleton has offers from Rutgers, Miami, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Michigan. His father says they will visit Wisconsin later this month and he would like to visit USC as well. “I want to get him there this summer, if not earlier,” he said. Singleton is interested in USC, Georgia, and several Big Ten schools according to dad. “He was invited to spring games at Georgia and UConn and a couple of other schools,” his father said. “They’re all on the same day it seems so he can’t go to all of them.” His father says Singleton does not have a favorite.
The list of impressive offers for Dorman OL Patrick Destefano grew Wednesday when Michigan came on board. The Wolverines join the likes of Clemson, USC, Stanford, Tennessee, North Carolina, NC State, Arkansas, Maryland, Florida State, Notre Dame, Virginia, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Florida and Illinois among others. He does not have a favorites list at this point. Destefano will visit Penn State this weekend.
DB Clinton Heaven (6-1 195) of Bradenton, FL has offers from USC and Clemson. He is hearing from South Florida. “He is a model football player,” coach Joe Kinnan said. “He is a leader on and off the field.” Kinnan says that Heaven has been a two-year starter for his team and played varsity football as a freshman. Heaven attended a junior day at Miami and has visited South Florida. “I’m not sure what his plans are for other visits,” said Kinnan. As a junior, Heaven had 53 tackles and six pass deflections. Kinnan was unsure if Heaven has a favorite.
USC coaches met Thursday with PG Chris Colvin of Palm Beach JC, FL and the Gamecocks have put themselves in good shape with Colvin according to his coach Butch Estes. Colvin now plans to set an official visit date with the Gamecocks. USC coach Darrin Horn is going to Chicago Friday to visit with Colvin’s dad. Miami and West Virginia are now out with Colvin according to Estes. He will take official visits to USC, Providence, Arizona State and one more school to be determined.
