USC basketball coach Darrin Horn announced today that sophomore guards Ramon Galloway and Stephen Spinella will not be back next season.
“As a staff we wish Ramon and Stephen the best in their futures, both as basketball players and young men,” Horn said. “We’re committed to helping both of them continue their basketball and academic careers. We appreciate what they brought to our program during their time at South Carolina.”
Galloway played in all 30 games for USC last season and started in four. He averaged 10.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.7 assist per game. He played about 24 minutes per game. He averaged just over nine points per game over his two year career.
“I have enjoyed my two years here at the University of South Carolina,” Galloway said. “At this time I’m going to transfer to another university. I’m looking for a different opportunity and role. I would like to thank Coach Horn and wish him and the program the best.”
Spinella played in 15 games last season, most of which were early in the year. He averaged just 2.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in those games.
“I enjoyed the past two years here at South Carolina,” Spinella said. “I have decided to pursue other opportunities. I appreciate everything Coach Horn and the team have allowed me to accomplish. I wish the team the best of luck in the future.”
USC is coming off a 14-16 season. They finished 5-11 in the SEC.
