The Clemson baseball team reached its sixth College World Series in seventeen seasons under head coach Jack Leggett last season, and return 20 lettermen from that group.
The Tigers have reached the NCAA Tournament each season but one under Leggett, winning 769 games along the way, good enough for seventh-most in the nation during that span. Added to his staff this year are former players Bradley LeCroy (1997-00), and Tomas Cruz (2009, 10). LeCroy is an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator while Cruz will serve as a student assistant coach.
The Tigers’ 2011 schedule includes 32 home games, 24 games against 2010 NCAA Tournament teams (including 15 over a 21 game stretch), and 4 games at Greenville’s Fluor Field. The Collegiate Baseball preseason poll has Clemson ranked #4, and the Tigers open their season February 18 at home against Eastern Michigan. Opening pitch is scheduled for 4:00.
