ATH Taylor Barton (6-2 205) of Orlando is hearing from USC, Clemson, Florida, Duke, and Wake Forest among others but has not received his first offer, says his coach, Tim Borcky. “By May, he will have plenty,” added Borcky. Barton has been to junior days at Duke, Wake Forest, and Florida and was planning a trip to Columbia this upcoming weekend, but things did not work out. “Our school is on fall break and his family already had a family vacation planned for this week,” said Borcky. “He tried to work it out but it wasn’t to be.” Borcky says Barton has interest in Clemson and USC but does not have a favorite. As for his junior season, “I don’t know his exact numbers but I know he had a real good season receiving for us,” said his coach. “I think he was second on the team in tackles.” Borcky was unsure if Barton would attend Clemson’s next junior day.
DB Jordan Diggs (6-2 194) of Ft. Myers, FL is the son of former USC linebacker Shed Diggs, and he holds an offer from the Gamecocks. He also has offers from Ohio State, Maryland, Boston College and Central Florida. Diggs said Clemson also is showing interest and he received an e-mail from recruiter Tony Elliott Monday. He’s also hearing from Notre Dame, Alabama, Louisville, Florida, Miami, Connecticut, Florida State and South Florida. Diggs went to Miami and South Florida for games last season and has been to Florida State for a junior day. He is going to Florida this Saturday and Miami on Sunday. “Miami has jumped back in strong,” he said. He is planning to get to USC for a couple of days over his spring break. Right now he doesn’t have a favorite and will not make an early decision. Diggs plays both safety positions and last season he had 62 tackles and 3 interceptions. He also plays wide receiver and will lineup at quarterback in the Wildcat.
