Clemson starting linebacker Brandon Maye has asked for his release for the purposse of transferring to another program for his senior season according to Travis Sawchik of the Charleston Post and Courier who cited a source close to Maye for his information.
According to the report, Maye plans to try to find a graduate program not offered at Clemson so that he can transfer to that school without losing eligibility. The report said Maye was unhappy with his move from middle to outside linebacker last season and with his playing time.
Injuries kept Maye out of four games last season. He started eight of the nine games he played in and totaled 43 tackles.
