DE Jadeveon Clowney of South Pointe does not have a clear visit schedule set after this weekend’s visit to Alabama. According to his coach Bobby Carroll, the January 21st visit to Florida State is no longer definite, and Clowney has not set a visit for January 28th. Clowney has visited USC. Carroll said he’s been called in recent days by Florida head coach Will Muschamp, new Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby and by North Carolina’s new defensive line coach all hoping to get in the running for a visit. USC’s Ellis Johnson also has talked with Carroll. No more in home visits with head coaches have been set up. USC’s Steve Spurrier and Alabama’s Nick Saban have taken their in home visits. Clowney’s mother will join him on the visit to Alabama. His coach is not sure yet if he’ll make the trip. Clowney was in New York last weekend for a photo shoot for ESPN.
DE Jeoffrey Pagan (6-4 250) of Asheville, NC was scheduled to visit LSU in two weeks but will not make the trip, according to his coach, Danny Wilkins. Wilkins says Clemson remains heavily involved with the one-time Florida commit. “They’ve been up several times to see him,” said Wilkins. “He’s going to take his official visit there this weekend.” Pagan will also take a trip to Alabama on January 28th and has already visited Georgia, prior to Christmas. According to Wilkins, Pagan is down to Clemson, Georgia, and Alabama. As for Florida, “They haven’t contacted me,” said Wilkins. “They may have contacted him directly but I don’t know. I’m not sure if they are still going after him.”
OL Xavier Ward (6-7 260) of Moultrie, GA was scheduled to visit Alabama this past weekend but did not make the trip. “They cancelled the visit on me because they got a commitment from a tackle out of Arizona,” said Ward. Ward, however, has not eliminated the Tide from his list. “I wouldn’t say I’m done with them but I don’t know if they’re going to take another lineman (in this class),” he said. Ward will visit Florida this weekend and Auburn on January 21st. He would like to take a visit to Clemson but is unclear on whether or not that will occur. “I haven’t heard from them in a while,’ he said. “I still want to visit.” Ward does not have a favorite and will wait until he has completed his official visits before making a decision. He has offers from Clemson, USC, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and Notre Dame, among others.
DL Kevin McReynolds of Washington, DC watched the Oregon Ducks play in the national title game Monday night. This weekend he’ll get a close up look at the program as he makes his official visit to Eugene. This will be his third official visit and second to the West Coast. He’s been to UCLA and Syracuse. McReynolds is undecided about his final two official visits. He’s looking at Mississippi State or Kansas State for January 21st. He had USC down for January 28th but could go to Kansas State or Maryland that weekend. He last talked with USC recruiter Jay Graham about two weeks ago. McReynolds will be a Signing Day announcer. There is no favorite.
