USC receiver Tori Gurley Sunday officially announced his plans to enter the NFL Draft and leave the Gamecock program with two years of eligibility remaining. Gurley’s plans to enter the draft were first reported by SportsTalkSC.com December 13th. Gurley is 23 years old and his age was a major factor in his decision to leave early.
Sunday Gurley released a statement to ESPN’s Joe Schad about his decision.:
“This was the most difficult decision of my life for many reasons. My years at the University of South Carolina were the best years of my life. I fulfilled a lifelong dream to play under a Hall of Fame coach in Steve Spurrier and being a part of the Gamecock nation. I will forever be grateful to coach Spurrier for my significant development as a player and a person and giving me the opportunity to play for him and to fulfill my dream of pursuing a career in the NFL.”
Gurley had 44 catches for 465 yards and 4 touchdowns this season.
