Three local players are among the 66 candidates in contention for this year’s Bob Cousy Award. The Cousy award is given annually the top point guard in college basketball.
Clemson’s Demontez Stitt, USC freshman Bruce Ellington and The Citadel’s Cameron Wells are all candidates for the prestigious award the bears NBA Hall of Famer Bob Cousy’s name. The players were all nominated by their respective schools.
The Hall of Fame is proud to once again work with Mr. Cousy and to present one of college basketball’s most coveted awards,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “This list represents a wide range of college basketball’s top players and we look forward to honoring the legacy of Mr. Cousy with this year’s award winner.”
The winner of the award will be announced on Monday April 4th in Houston. The ceremony will be part of the NCAA Final Four weekend.
