Kudos to the Big South conference for a great start to the college basketball season. Earlier this season Winthrop went on the road and knocked off Wake Forest. Granted the Demon Deacons are a bit down this season, but wins over an ACC and SEC program will help with the league’s RPI come March. Also don’t forget Presbyterian going on the road and giving then third ranked Kansas State all it wanted before eventually losing by nine.
These wins and tough games against ranked teams will help the Big South champion, whoever it may be, to the play-in game or a 16 or 15 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
