Clemson had its chances, but couldn’t capitalize and lost its ACC opener at Florida State, 75-69 Sunday night in Tallahassee. The Tigers led by six at the half and had a small lead with less than four minutes to play, but could not hold on.
Florida State’s Deividas Dulkys hit a couple of big 3-point shots, including one with 3:36 to go that gave the Seminoles a 62-61 led it would not relinquish. Dulky’s finished with 17 points.
Clemson was led by Demontez Stitt’s 18 points. Tanner Smith scored 13 and Jerai Grant added 12. Andre Young also had 11 points.
Clemson falls to 5-4 on the season. They are 0-1 in the ACC. Florida State is 7-2 and 1-0.
The Tigers are off until Friday night’s home game against Savannah State.
