Wofford is one of eight teams still alive in the FCS playoffs. After a first round bye the Terriers went to Jacksonville State and picked up a 17-14 win over the Gamecocks to advance to the third round. The team will get an unexpected a home field advantage this weekend when they take on Georgia Southern at 2:00 Saturday at Gibbs Stadium.
Georgia Southern did not get its bid in to the NCAA in time so Wofford will get the home game. The Terriers beat the Eagles 33-31 in Statesboro this season. Georgia Southern beat S.C. State and number two national seed William and Mary to advance to the third round.
The winner of Saturday’s game will face the winner of the New Hampshire-Delaware game next week in the semi-finals.
