Clemson defense end Da’Quan Bowers announced on his Twitter account today that he’s been named the winner of the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation’s top defensive end.
Earlier Bowers was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and the winner of the Bronco Nagurski award as the nation’s top defensive player in the country.
Bowers, a junior from Bamberg-Ehrhardt, led the nation this season with 15.5 sacks.
Bowers also is a finalist for the Lombardi Award, which will be announced tonight, and the Bednarik Award, which will be announced Thursday.
Bowers also is being projected now as a top five pick for the NFL Draft in April.
